St. Paul Lutheran School Reviews

Although all schools are hurting financially, the administration at St. Paul has not addressed teacher performance issues where they exist. My experience has been that some of the teachers can't teach 'out of the box' to address the needs of students who don't fit a certain mold. There is also a resistance to change and adapt which will make the challenge of combined grades more difficult.

I am saddened by the negative comments posted for such a wonderful school. My children are receiving and have received great building blocks for continuing their education, well into the future. A more loving and generous envirenment you will be hard pressed to find. The teachers and staff are always available to help the students. Not all schools are a fit for all people. To me it sounds as if they need to address whatever issues they have or look elsewhere, but I will tell you that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

I am disappointed in the decline of the quality of education at St. Paul. This school is not what it was 5 years ago, and there are now rumors of combined classes which will be detrimental for my children.

All Christian and public schools are suffering throughout the Chicagoland area, but in my mind, St. Paul Lutheran (Canfield) is as strong as ever. It's faculty and leadership also appear to be working harder than ever to provide our children with an exceptional learning experience in a loving Christian environment. If they are planning to combine classes (??), I don't think it will be a detriment at all. Research has proven that each child's pattern of development is unique and that there are many socio-emotional benefits to be gained by having students of various ages educated together. Peer intereactions are often more positive, and there tends to be greater development of social skills and cooperation. Regardless of the class setting, I'm sure our teachers at St. Paul will provide for the individual needs of our children using a variety of teaching methods for the highest skill development possible.

My 2 neices and my 4yr Daugher go to St. Paul. It is amazing how much they learn in a warm, friendly, and fun environment. My daughter is already writting and spelling on her own, about 5 words. Most 4 yrs olds that I know are just learning their 1,2,3's and ABC's. I can't say enough about this school

If you are looking for school that provides a family orientated and involved group of members, in a Christian environment, than this is it. I have 4 children that attend(ed) St. Paul and I could not be more pleased. The teachers are very involved in thier lives and work hard to ensure each child is being provided with a positive environment. The children themselves reflect this, through thier interactions with the community and each other. My children love to be there! Additionally, if you are planning to apply to one of the select CPS schools, St. Paul, has had many of their students accepted into the best.

My son has attended St. Paul since Kindergarten. His teachers have all gone that extra mile to give him the academic help he needs. However, it is the encouragement and priase that is making the difference in how he sees himself-a beloved child of God!

I have 3 children enrolled at St. Paul. I love the small class size, integrated, differentiated curriculum, weekly newsletters, positive learning climate, friendly and caring staff, before & after care program, and the morals & values taught daily to the children.

Love it!!! Love the environment and the best part is that my children are happy to go to school. The Pre-k school teacher and staff are wonderful!!! My other child is in Kindergarten and they are kept busy all day. I love this school and I am happy that my children are being taught the word of God!

The Staff at St. Paul is dedicated to serving each and every child with an excellent education. Each child is encouraged not just to excel academically but socially and spiritually as well. I would encourage any parent to come check out the school.

I am not only a parent with children that attend St. Paul, I am also a certified teacher. I feel that the faculty and staff do over and above what is normally required for a good education. You not only become a school family, but you are family to both the church and the school. The teachers strive and push the children to acheive great things, but they also show care and grace when the children or parents fall short of the goal. They have wonderful after school programs and they care about the people that walk through the doors. St. Paul also offers aid financially through a few different means. No one should sacrifice a child's education because of money. You have heard the statement, they grow up so fast. However, the education they receive will last with them for a lifetime. It is an investment in their future!

When our daughter transferred to St. Paul from another school, everyone made us feel so welcome. We have also been very impressed with the level of education, the programs and the extra opportunities for growth that are offered at St. Paul. The family activites are an added bonus! We are so happy that we brought our daughter to St. Paul.

Our son started this year at St. Paul and we are very happy that we chose this school. St. Paul provides a warm, Christian environment, where the children are encouraged to be kind, to be friends with each other, and look out for one another. My son is shy and he made friends easily in this environment. We see great progress in what he is learning and are very satisfied with how he is being taught. We are happy St. Paul parents.

St Paul has small class sizes. The school added a resource teacher last year as a full time position to help students that need extra help.

We are so pleased with St. Paul and the academic education that our son is getting. The teachers are wonderful and very approachable, and they will go the extra mile to make sure each student gets all the help they need. The sports programs are competitive, yet fun. The specialized art teacher, the band program, the computer lab, the foreign language program, and all the clubs and organizations make this school a great choice for anyone who is looking for a top-notch, well-rounded school for their children.

My children have been here for 13 consecutive years and I'm very pleased to say we're staying until our youngest graduates. While there may have an up or down over those 13 years, everything worked out fine, and ups and downs happen EVERYWHERE! It's been minimal in our years here. Communication is highly encouraged and very effective!

My children have been part of the St. Paul family since 2002 when we enrolled them in kindergarten and 2nd grade. We have been very happy with the school, educational standards and with the school administration. The school family really reaches out and fosters an environment for all around learning and my kids have blossomed in this nurturing environment. I recommend St. Paul School to anyone looking for a solid educational and Christian setting.

When our son and daughter transferred to St. Paul from another school; the staff, students and families at St. Paul made us all feel very wecome right from the start. The school has higher academic performance, as well as multiple opportunities for support, resource programs, foreign language, technology and fine arts. It's no wonder so many of St. Paul's graduates get accepted into advanced programs in high school! We feel confident about the top-notch education our kids are getting at St. Paul.

This school is excellent not only as an alternative to the Chicago Public School system but also as an enriching, challenging and caring, Christian-based choice. hiya

I have worked here for 25 years and have always been amazed at the wonderful atmosphere and caring teachers and staff. It is truly a family feeling at St. Paul. We have a fully accredited curriculum and fully prepare our students to be successful in high school and beyond.

This School is by far the best choice we ever made for our children. They have a computer lab, accelerated reader Program, Sports and after school activities, as well as an awesome resource teacher.

This school is a wonderful place for your child to start learning. The pre-k 3/4 teacher is great. Her class size is 15 children. My daughter has learned how to write her name and is learnign to write other things and she is only 4 yrs old.

It's a great school that parents should investigate when they're thinking of looking at a school in the northwest side of Chicago.

Our family has been involved with St. Paul since our eldest was in kindergarten. He is now finishing up 3rd grade and we are blessed to have watched both he and our younger son bloom spiritually, academically and emotionally. The atmosphere of St. Paul is nurturing, caring, and respectful of the children while providing a Christ-centered philosophy to all facets of the curriculum. God has led us to this school and we are filled with joy at the opportunity we have had to have our children educated in this environment.

Hello, I'm a parent of four students at St. Paul. They love it there and call it home. The family atmosphere is most welcoming. Academically they are top in our area and their sports are complimentary. Come in and check us out and they will prove it.
